How to Wear the Colour Camel 5 Different Ways

How to Wear the Colour Camel 5 Different Ways

Say hello to your new favourite neutral! The deep and rich sandy-beige tone dubbed “Camel” is popping up all over Pinterest and Instagram, and is definitely one of this year’s most popular shades. If you’re looking to add some more neutral colored clothing to your wardrobe, we definitely recommend considering camel. From camel color coats, to camel color dresses, it’s everywhere. Camel is more unique than traditional neutrals like black, white and grey, but just as easy to pair with other colours. Not sure what colors go with camel? Camel looks great with navy blue, black, olive green to name a few, but the list goes on as any good neutral should.

So how do you style this shade coveted by A-list celebs and insta-bloggers alike? With its ability to be paired well with patterns, and cool & warm tones equally, camel is a lot easier to style than you’d think. It’s also a great colour for all seasons, making it an ideal colour to add into a capsule wardrobe. A common question asked in fashion is, “does brown and black go together?” and we say yes, but make sure the shade of brown isn’t too close to black - making camel an excellent choice for pairing with black. At Encircled, we recently released three of our most popular products in this new colour - The Evolve Top, Sleeveless Revolve Dress and Wanderer Sleeveless Tee. These three pieces are made from luxuriously-soft, silky and sustainable modal fabric that provides an elegant drape and comfortable feel. And, as with all Encircled clothing, the pieces are ethically-made in Canada. Below, we have styled our new camel styles with some other pieces and accessories for some simple neutral outfits featuring camel.

Tortoise shell and Camel is a match made in effortless-but-chic-style heaven.  Easily paired with your favourite indigo skinny jeans, gold bangles, and a Renew Scrunchie (made from upcycled textile waste!). The Evolve Top is versatile with its multi-wear sleeves, giving you two different outfits to choose from. It also has a reversible neckline - wear it as a boat neck or cowl neck for even more styling options. Between the multiway style of the top, and easy-to-style neutral shade, this top offers endless outfit opportunities.

A great way to match a colour you’re uncertain about? Go monochromatic! The darker caramel faux croc-skin slides bring out the warmer tones of the camel Sleeveless Revolve Dress. Accessorize additionally with a similarly-toned camel crossbody bag, gold jewelry, and hoop earrings. Did we mention that this piece is more than just your basic camel colored dress? The Sleeveless Revolve Dress can be worn as a top, tunic or dress!

Camel is one of those colours that is really easily dressed up or down for different occasions (so is the Sleeveless Revolve Dress, seen here again with its reversible neckline). Go bold and find a cheetah print heel that has camel tones in the pattern, or find a perfectly matching block-heel for a more subtle look. A ring clutch is the perfect go-to bag for an evening out. There’s something so effortlessly chic about a camel dress!

On the comfier side of things, the Wanderer Sleeveless T in camel works for a casual day running errands, or walking the dog. The Dressy Sweatpants in black are a great option for a cute yet comfy look, and you can round it off with a cropped denim jacket in a lighter wash. Bringing back those tortoise shell earrings because they really are the perfect match, and shaking it up with some blush sneakers with a matching camel-toned detail.

The Evolve Top transforms from friday-casual to work-casual with ease. Pictured here in its reversible neckline and capped sleeves, the look totally changes from the previous one. Snakeskin heels are considered a neutral of their own, and they look great with these black skinny jeans and grey-toned handbag. A statement necklace compliments the higher neckline, and a collarless cropped blazer makes this neutral outfit office-ready.

Camel isn't as intimidating of a statement neutral as you might have once thought! If you think that you're ready to style this shade, click here to shop the Encircled's pieces that come in this colour. Let us know in the comments which look is your favourite!

Looking for something a little lighter than camel, but still in the same colour family? Checkout out Fair Cloud Terry Jogger in the colour Sand or our Dressy Sweatshirt in Coastal Beige. Both are great neutral colored clothing pieces that you’ll be able to style with ease, plus they’re super comfortable!
