Say No To Single Occasion Dresses

This just in: outfit repeating is in.

With the average person only wearing approximately 20% of their wardrobe, we wanted to create a timeless staple that would take you from cool and casual to dressy and elegant in no time. As a sustainable clothing brand, we aim to create versatile capsule wardrobe pieces that will help you get the most out of your closet

This summer, we created The Comfy Button-Front Dress to take you from day to night in complete comfort. Made with Rayon from Bamboo, this dress is so silky you’ll be caught lounging in it all summer long. Perfect for any occasion, this long button-down dress is great for warm summer days in the park, and can easily be transitioned into fall with light layers for a dress that does it all.

Forget trying to decide what to wear or which of the dresses you own is ‘just right’ for that next event of yours. Paired with accessories, The Comfy Button-Front Dress can easily be dressed up or down. It’s time to start demanding more from your dresses and experimenting with ways to accessorize to do more with less.

To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite ways to style this versatile design.

1) Sandals + Sunglasses

Blue button-front dress with sandals and sun glasses

Sandals and sunglasses are the ultimate summer staples. Pair your Comfy Button-Front Dress with your most comfortable pair of sandals and favourite pair of sunnies for beach vacation vibes. With slits on the side seams for extra mobility and comfort, the long button-down dress will have you feeling breezy on those hot summer days.

We love a pop of colour in the summer and styled our timeless black dress with contrasting blue sandals for an eye-catching look. Pair your dress with a pastel coloured sandal for a touch of warmth or keep a more monochrome look with simple black sandals. Don’t forget to accessorize with a comfortable pair of sunglasses that will keep you protected from the sun. We love pairing tortoise shell sunglasses with any outfit since the combination of black and brown pair well with any colour combination and allows for versatile styling options. The black and brown faux-horn buttons on this dress also match neutral undertones so it’s easy to incorporate colour into your summer capsule wardrobe with bright accessories like tote bags and bracelets.

If you’re wondering how to dress up a button-down shirt dress but keep cool, pair this sleek collarless dress with a pair of opened-toe heels and you’re set for a chic Sunday brunch.

2) Chic Heels + Purse

Blue Button-Front Dress styled with black heels and matching black purse

Wondering how to dress up a button-down shirt dress for a more formal look? We loved styling The Comfy Button-Front Dress with chic heels and a cute purse for an outfit fit for evening dinners and weekend getaways. Paired with classic black heels and a matching black purse, these neutral coloured accessories pair well with the Blue, Black and Charcoal colour options of the dress. To add to your accessories, try wearing a statement earring or subtle bracelet. We can’t wait to add a hammered metal bracelet to this dinner-party outfit for a more textured look and style it with The Comfy Puff Sleeve Cardigan for a light evening layer.

If you’re looking to mix and match this wardrobe staple with pre-existing items within your closet, swap out the belt provided and dress up this outfit with a natural coloured leather belt or chain link metal belt to accentuate your waist. Headed to a day-time event and want to be dressed up with but with an added touch of warmth? Wear a straw woven belt with beige coloured heels and a pastel purse for elegance made easy and comfy.

3) Cool and Casual in Sneakers

White sneakers are a must-have in any capsule wardrobe. They’re classic, comfortable and their versatility is unmatched as they can be paired with leggings, denim, trousers, Dressy Sweatpants and even dresses. We loved styling The Comfy Button-Front Dress for a casual outfit that will have you feeling comfortable all day long. This long button-down dress goes perfectly with your favourite pair of go-to white sneakers and the charcoal colour of the dress allows for versatile mixing and matching options as any neutral or bright coloured sneaker will compliment the dress for a sleek street style.

If you’re looking to incorporate colour into your capsule wardrobe, start with bright coloured accessories and pair them with neutral coloured clothing as a first step. We’re excited to pair this versatile charcoal colour with red sneakers for a pop of colour and add gold jewelry to dress up the sneaker outfit. In the cooler months, opt for an edgier style and pair this long button-front with a pair of combat boots and a cross body bag.

4) Transitional Layers

Ready to put your capsule wardrobe pieces to the test? Switch up the functionality of the button-down dress and wear it as a top layer over any outfit! We styled this versatile piece with a pair of classic denim shorts and a white summer t-shirt for a light layer, perfect for cooler evenings. A great transitional layer, your seasonless sundress can now be worn as an overcoat all year-round.

In the fall, pair this light layer over leggings and a t-shirt for a comfortable outfit, great for running errands on the weekend or wearing post-yoga for some added warmth. For the cooler winter months, continue to get the most out of your wardrobe by pairing The Comfy Button-Front Dress over a long sleeve shirt with tights and comfortable flats. And, if you’re looking for some extra workwear inspiration, we can’t wait to wear this silky soft layer over our Comfy Wide Leg Pants and Unbodysuit for a timeless office look.

I really like the look of this dress, especially in the olive gray. I am quite thin and I’d love to see it on a “thin” model just to see how it looks. Also, I have a short torso….what is the approximate length from shoulder to waist seam for a small/x-small?
Thanks!
