Last minute business trip or a surprise vacation? These time-saving packing tips will have you covered for the expected and unexpected.
Pre-pack your bags.
If you are a frequent traveler, you know exactly what I am talking about. Pre-packing or keeping your toiletries packed is a huge time saver.
As a frequent traveler of quick weekend getaways, bi-coastal and international travel, having my beauty and toiletries pre-packed reduces my packing time by at least 20-30 minutes. It saves time, and takes the guess work out of what to pack.
Personally, I pack all of my toiletries with my Voyager Toiletry Bag. I love this bag because of its versatility and how much it holds.
All of the compartments are detachable, so even though the bag is packed and ready to stowaway in my luggage, it is incredibly easy for me to snap out one case and pare down my toiletries for carry-on only trips.
Pack your must have hair products (shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo) in one case and your go-to skincare (toner, moisturizer, cleanser) products in the other. The clear detachable pouches are TSA-friendly and spill-proof, so no need for tons of plastic bags anymore.
I use the uber convenient clasp detachable flat pouch for smaller items (cotton balls, lip balm, eye cream, etc.) in. Most often, this bag comes along with my in-flight for quick access during my travels.
Roll, don’t fold. And use a packing cube!
Anyone who travels frequently knows how essential a packing cube is. I know, I know. You are asking yourself if you need one and the answer is YES! If you are type A (like me) and want your luggage to be organized and easy to locate your wardrobe in a snap, then pack with a cube.
I have packed 2 weeks worth of clothes in one cube, simply by rolling and organizing the cube as I do my chest of drawers. I keep intimates on the top (zip pocket), bottoms on one side, tops down the center and dresses on the other side. Whether you’re going away for a weekend wedding or just want to keep your favorite pieces in great condition while traveling, packing cubes definitely are a must-have.
Three pairs of shoes. That is all you need to travel the world!
It is easier than you think to travel with only three pairs of shoes. Whether you are heading out for a quick weekend getaway, a business trip or a two-week European vacation, all you need is three pairs of shoes. It's efficient, takes the guesswork out of what to pack and saves a lot of room in your luggage.
Pack one pair of heels for a night on the town, one pair of flats (sandals or ballet flats) to give your soles a break and a pair of sneakers or runners for a workout.
I personally always pack a pair of metallic heels (gold or mixed metallic) as they compliment and dress up any look.
And of course, I pack my three pairs of shoes in a Hudson+Bleecker travel shoe bag, as they are machine washable and reusable.
