HOW IT'S MADE
The Renew Scrunchies are made from fabric cuttings. During each production run, we ask our Sewing Studios to save excess fabric cuttings. The fabric cuttings are collected and stored at our studio, and recut into small accessories, like these Scrunchies. So, you get a fun and functional Scrunchie, and the fabric is saved from going into the landfill. Win, win.
I love this scrunchie. I have four of them! They are easy to coordinate with my outfits and I feel better knowing that the material has been put to good use, instead of going into a landfill.
The modal Renew Scrunchie works well with my fine hair. Unlike with cotton scrunchies, which dry out my hair and cause breakage, I haven't had that problem with the modal fabric. I am very happy with this product.
I love that it’s made from leftover fabric from other Encircled clothing. Wearing sustainably made clothing is important to me.
I love my on the go scrunchie! I have 5 (black, navy, light blue, rose and royal blue) and wear them all a ton. I love that fabric does not go to waste, and that they are such a beautiful and functional accessory.
The on-the-go scrunchie is an excellent idea. I love that Encircled upcycles unused cloth to create these. The colour is beautiful, the scrunchie holds a lot of hair well, and the soft frantic never catches on my hair. That said, I still feel that the value of the scrunchie does not match its posted price. I realize that much of the pricing of the clothing we buy does not reflect the true cost of manufacturing, sewing, shipping, etc. but I also know that one of my students is able to make a lovely scrunchie out of scrap cloths in about 15min. Why then is it worth $15, especially being made from leftover cloth which would have been thrown out? I really want to support encircled and am willing to pay more for quality products, but this one in retrospect seems much harder to justify.
