Travel Muse, Kirsten + the Traveling Cardi in New Orleans

Our first Travel Muse who we will follow for the next few weeks is Kirsten.
In the words of Kirsten on her journey to New Orleans,

I recently went for my first time… during Mardis Gras!
I didn’t know what to expect and to be honest, I thought it might actually be a bit too crazy for my liking.
I WAS DEAD WRONG! It is now one of my favorite cities in America.
It is dripping with culture and I took part in the Mardi Gras festivities with my friends who live there, so I got a local experience not a touristy one.
And yes… I did head to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter and while it was great (and pretty nuts!) , I spent most my time there outside of this area and was continually blown away by this incredible city.
I did go to Café du Monde though for the beignets… which were pretty amazing.
It was a cold night… and I wore my Chrysalis Cardi… needless to say I left with powdered sugar all over it!
Well worth it though! And New Orleans… I will definitely be back!
